Reconditioned Volkswagen Scirocco 1.4 TSI Gearbox – Reference KWB
This reconditioned gearbox is designed for the Volkswagen Scirocco fitted with the 1.4 TSI engine (1390 cm³), covering engine codes CAXA and CAVD, and carries reference KWB. The reconditioning process involves a full strip-down of the gearbox, thorough cleaning and a detailed inspection of every component, followed by replacement of all internal wear parts including gears, synchros, bearings and seals. The unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch.
Signs That Your Scirocco 6-Speed Manual Gearbox Needs Replacing
On the Scirocco 1.4 TSI, a worn 6-speed manual gearbox often makes itself known through stiff or imprecise gear changes, crunching on downshifts, a low rumble in neutral, or a tendency for the gear lever to jump out of position under acceleration. Unusual vibrations or a burning smell from the transmission should also be taken as warning signs.
- Stiff or grinding gear changes
- Crunching on downshifts
- Gear lever jumping out of position
- Abnormal noise in neutral
- Vibrations or burning smell
