This new Ford Transit turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required, and it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your van is never left off the road unnecessarily. It comes with a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over up to 10 instalments.
Advice before fitting to the 2.4 TDCi
On this diesel engine, turbo failure is most commonly caused by inadequate lubrication due to poor-quality oil or oil changed too infrequently, a clogged air filter, or a cracked intercooler hose allowing contaminants to enter. Before fitting the new turbo, check the condition of the oil circuit, the cleanliness of the hoses and air intake, and ensure there are no leaks at the intercooler. Remember also to prime the oil circuit before the first start-up so the turbo is properly lubricated from the moment the engine fires.
