A new turbo designed for real-world use on the Scénic 1.9 dCi
The Renault Scénic is first and foremost a family vehicle, typically used for a mix of journeys: out-of-town runs, motorway trips with several passengers or a full load, as well as frequent short urban trips for the school run or shopping. This constant alternation between heavy demand and stop-start city driving subjects the turbocharger to repeated pressure build-up cycles followed by rapid cooling phases, which gradually wear the bearings and variable geometry if maintenance is not kept up to scratch. This new turbo is designed to restore factory-standard performance for exactly this kind of use.
Compatibility with the Scénic 1.9 dCi engine
This new turbo is compatible with reference 755507-5011S and its equivalents, fitted to the Renault Scénic equipped with the 1.9 dCi engine, in particular engine codes F9Q803, F9Q804, F9Q816 and F9Q818. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference printed on the old turbo or on the vehicle's engine plate, as certain power variants may share closely related parts.
Exchange basis and warranty on this Scénic turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so the Scénic is never left off the road. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Symptoms and advice before fitting on the 1.9 dCi
On the Scénic 1.9 dCi engine, a loss of power, blue or black smoke on acceleration, an unusual whistling noise, or an illuminated engine warning light can all indicate a failing turbo. Common causes of turbo failure include insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil or oil that has not been changed at the recommended intervals, a clogged air filter, or a cracked intercooler allowing contaminants through.
- Check the oil circuit and clean the oil strainer
- Inspect the condition of the hoses and air intake before fitting
- Prime the turbo with oil before the first start-up
- Adapt your driving style after fitting to protect the new part
