Navara: 4 power outputs in 2.5 dCi and 3 variants of the 3.0 dCi — that many different turbos, and mixing them up is not an option

The Nissan Navara is a pick-up built for both professional and leisure use — frequently loaded, regularly towing heavy loads, and driven off-road or on rough tracks. This intensive use puts the turbo under far greater strain than on an ordinary passenger car: frequent high-rev surges under load, elevated oil temperatures, and accelerated fouling of the lubrication circuit. When the turbo fails on a Navara, the question is not simply one of replacing it — you must also make sure that the root cause of the failure (oil quality, feed circuit, blocked DPF) has been properly addressed before refitting, otherwise the new part will not last long.

2.5 dCi: two engine code families, four power outputs

The 2.5 dCi is the Navara's dominant engine. Depending on the generation and market, it is available in several power outputs — 144, 171, 174 and 190 hp — and, depending on the version, carries the engine code YD25DDTi or QW25. These two codes do not necessarily share the same turbo: identifying the exact code stamped on the block is essential before placing any order. There are numerous manufacturer references associated with the 2.5 dCi — among them 14411-5X30B, 14411EB70A, 144118X01B and 49189-07802 — and a reference mix-up will result in an incompatible part, even if the turbos look identical at first glance.

3.0 dCi: three power outputs, two V9X engine codes

The 3.0 dCi is fitted to the top-of-the-range versions of the Navara, in 231, 238 and 241 hp. It is identified by the codes V9X and V9X891. This variable-geometry unit is prone to fouling of the turbo vanes, which is common with the mixed town-and-road driving typical of the Navara in double-cab form. The usual symptoms — whistling, a marked loss of power, smoke on acceleration — can also stem from a faulty actuator before any mechanical failure occurs: an accurate diagnosis avoids replacing a turbo that is still serviceable. All turbos offered in this collection are new parts, sold with no old unit to return.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the turbo new or reconditioned?

The turbos on this page are new. Each product page states the original manufacturer reference and its equivalent references for your Nissan Navara Turbo.

What warranty comes with the turbo?

Every turbo is guaranteed for 12 months, provided it is fitted by a professional. The warranty covers the part; labour is not included. Before fitting, the cause of the previous failure (lubrication, oil feed, intake leak, EGR / DPF clogging) must be fixed.

Do I need to send back my old turbo?

No. The turbos on this page are new and sold as a straight sale: nothing to send back, your old turbo stays with you and there is one single delivery.

How do I make sure I order the right turbo for my Nissan Navara Turbo?

Compatibility depends on the engine code and the reference stamped on your turbo, not just on the model. Enter your number plate or request a quote: our advisers confirm the exact reference before you order. You can pay in up to 10 instalments.
