The new turbo for your Fiat Bravo 2.0 Multijet 16V in everyday use

The Fiat Bravo is frequently used for mixed driving — a combination of town and faster roads, sometimes with a load on board or a more spirited driving style. This type of use puts considerable strain on the turbocharger of the 2.0 Multijet 16V engine, particularly during repeated high-rev bursts or when restarting after the engine has been left to sit while still hot. A worn or failing turbo quickly makes itself known through a loss of power, an unusual whistling noise, or abnormal exhaust smoke.

Compatibility of the new turbo with the Fiat Bravo 2.0 Multijet

This new turbo is compatible with the main reference 788290-5001S, intended for Fiat Bravo models fitted with the 2.0 Multijet 16V diesel engine, with an engine capacity of 1956 cm³. The engine codes covered are 198 A5.000, 198 A8.000, 844 A2.000, 939 B5.000 and 940 A5.000. Before placing an order, it is strongly recommended that you check the reference printed on the old turbo or on the engine plate, to ensure perfect compatibility with your vehicle.

Exchange basis and warranty for this Fiat Bravo turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, and it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so that your Fiat Bravo is not left off the road. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Advice before fitting the turbo on the 2.0 Multijet

Before installation, check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses and the air intake, as insufficient lubrication or a clogged air filter and intercooler are common causes of premature failure on this engine. Use the recommended oil grade and adhere to the correct service intervals, and avoid switching the engine off abruptly after sustained use. When starting up, it is essential to prime the turbo with oil before the first start, to ensure correct lubrication from the very first revolutions.
