Restore the full power of your BMW Z4

On a BMW Z4 fitted with a turbocharged petrol engine, the difference is felt from the very first miles: crisp acceleration, smooth power delivery and no whistling or exhaust smoke. A turbo in good condition directly shapes the driving pleasure that defines this roadster — built for sharp acceleration and instant throttle response. As soon as the turbo starts to fail, power loss, hesitation or blue or black exhaust smoke will spoil that sporting driving experience.

Compatibility of the new turbo for the BMW Z4

This new turbo is compatible with reference 49477-02104, intended for BMW Z4 models fitted with the N20B20A petrol engine with an engine capacity of 1997 cm³, found on the sDrive18i, sDrive20i and sDrive28i variants. Before placing an order, please check the reference on the label of your old turbo to confirm it is an exact match for your vehicle.

Exchange basis and warranty on this Z4 turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of your old turbo is required in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, but it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Z4 is not left off the road unnecessarily. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Fitting advice to protect your new turbo

On the N20B20A engine of the Z4, lubrication is central to turbo longevity: use a good-quality oil suited to the engine and follow the service intervals strictly. Before fitting, also check the condition of the air filter and intercooler, as well as the cleanliness of the oil circuit and that there are no leaks on the hoses. When starting up for the first time, it is recommended to pre-lubricate the turbo with oil before the initial start, and to drive gently for the first few kilometres to allow the oil pressure to build up gradually.
