Not sure you've found the right part?
A new turbo designed for your BMW Série 2
Whether driven as a sporty coupé or a convertible on regular journeys, the BMW Série 2 puts its 2.0-litre petrol unit under considerable strain during hard acceleration and high-rev driving. This kind of dynamic use, combined with repeated short trips that don't always allow the engine to reach its optimum operating temperature, accelerates wear on the original turbocharger. A new turbo, compatible with reference 49477-02404, restores full responsiveness and power to your vehicle.
Compatibility with Série 2 engines
This new turbo is compatible with BMW Série 2 models fitted with the 220i 184 ch and 230i 252 ch petrol engines, with an engine capacity of 1998 cm3, corresponding to engine codes B48B20A and B48B20B. Before placing an order, please check the reference number on your old turbo to confirm exact compatibility with your vehicle.
Exchange and warranty for your Série 2
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your BMW Série 2 is never left off the road unnecessarily. This turbo comes with a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Fitting advice to protect your turbo
On the B48B20 petrol engines of the Série 2, turbo failure is most commonly caused by a lubrication fault linked to poor-quality engine oil, missed oil changes, or a clogged air filter. Before fitting, carefully inspect the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses, and the cleanliness of the air intake to avoid any contamination of the new turbo. When starting the engine for the first time, priming with oil is essential to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings and to maximise the service life of the part.
