Signs of a failing turbo on the SEAT Altea 2.0 TDI 170 ch

On the SEAT Altea fitted with the 2.0 TDI 170 ch engine (code CBBB), a turbo nearing the end of its life often makes itself known through a loss of power under acceleration, an unusual whistling noise from under the bonnet, blue or black smoke from the exhaust, or an engine warning light accompanied by a fault code for insufficient boost pressure. Excessive oil consumption or hesitation on pick-up are also warning signs that should alert any Altea driver, whether used daily or on long-distance journeys.

Exchange basis and warranty for this turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, and it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Altea is never left off the road unnecessarily. Fitting advice for the CBBB engine

Before installation, check the oil circuit, hoses and air intake to prevent any contamination of the new turbo. Priming with oil before the first start-up is essential to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings. To maximise the service life of the turbo, pay close attention to the quality and frequency of engine oil changes, the condition of the air filter and intercooler, and avoid revving the engine hard when cold or switching off immediately after sustained high-load driving.
