Signs of a Worn Turbo on the Volkswagen Lupo 1.4 TDI
On the Volkswagen Lupo fitted with the 1.4 TDI diesel engine, a turbocharger that is nearing the end of its life will often make itself known through a noticeable loss of power under acceleration, an unusual whistling noise from the engine bay, blue or black exhaust smoke, and abnormally high oil consumption. An engine warning light on the dashboard combined with a loss of pulling power can also point to excessive play in the turbo bearings or a leak in the intake circuit.
Compatibility of the Turbo for the Lupo 1.4 TDI
This new turbo is compatible with reference 733783-5008S and fits the Volkswagen Lupo with the 1.4 TDI engine (diesel, 1422 cm³), associated in particular with engine code AMF. Before placing an order, it is recommended that you check the reference printed on the casing of your old turbo, as several variants of housings or actuators may exist depending on the vehicle's year of manufacture.
Exchange Basis and Warranty for This Lupo Turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Lupo is not left off the road. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Fitting Advice for the 1.4 TDI Engine
Before fitting this turbo to the Lupo's AMF engine, check the oil circuit (feed and return hoses, and that there are no blockages or deposits), the condition of the air filter, and that of the intercooler — both are frequently responsible for premature failure when clogged or cracked. A full oil change using a suitable quality oil, along with priming the turbo with oil before the first start-up, will help protect bearing lubrication from the moment the engine is running again. Driving in a way that respects the turbo's warm-up and cool-down phases will also contribute to its longevity.
