What changes behind the wheel of your PEUGEOT 206 with a healthy turbo
On a PEUGEOT 206 fitted with the 2.0 HDi 90 engine, a turbo in good working order makes itself felt immediately from the first few metres: crisper pick-up out of bends, no flat spot on acceleration, a stable idle and normal exhaust smoke. Conversely, a worn turbo typically shows itself through a gradual loss of power, blue or black smoke, an unusual whistling noise, or an engine warning light coming on. This new turbo is designed to restore the 206's original performance without any compromise on everyday reliability.
Compatibility with the DW10TD engine in the PEUGEOT 206
This new turbo is compatible with reference 706977-5001S, fitted to the PEUGEOT 206 equipped with the 2.0 HDi 90 engine, engine code DW10TD/RHY. Before placing an order, it is strongly recommended that you check the reference printed on the old turbo or on the vehicle's identification plate, as certain variants of the 2.0 HDi 90 may have been fitted with closely related references depending on the production period.
Exchange basis and warranty for this PEUGEOT 206 turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so the 206 is not left off the road. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Tips for looking after this turbo on your 206
On the DW10TD engine, turbo lifespan depends largely on the quality and freshness of the engine oil, adherence to oil change intervals, and the condition of the air filter. A clogged intercooler, or habitually driving hard immediately after a cold start or at high revs straight away, will also accelerate bearing wear.
- Check the oil circuit and its seals before fitting
- Inspect the condition of the hoses and air intake
- Prime the turbo with oil before the first start-up
These simple checks ensure correct lubrication from the moment of start-up and help preserve the longevity of the new turbo fitted to your PEUGEOT 206.
