2.0 HDi or 1.4 HDi: two engine families, nine distinct engine codes on the 206

The engine code stamped on the block is the only reliable way to identify the correct turbo for a Peugeot 206. Engine capacity alone is not enough: the 2.0 HDi comes in two versions, 90 hp and 110 hp, with different codes and different turbos. For the 110 hp, the codes are RHS and RHZ. For the 90 hp, you need to distinguish between DW10TD and RHY — these four codes do not share the same turbo reference.

    1.6 HDi: 9HY / 9HZ for the 110 hp, DV6ATED4 / DV6UTED4 for 75 and 90 hp

The 1.6 HDi also comes in two clearly distinct power outputs. The 110 hp version uses codes 9HY and 9HZ, whilst the 75 hp and 90 hp versions carry the codes DV6ATED4 and DV6UTED4. Despite having the same engine capacity, the variable geometries and actuators differ: a turbo from the 110 hp will not fit the 75 hp or 90 hp, and vice versa. Checking the engine code removes any ambiguity.

1.4 HDi: a single DV4TD code, but multiple manufacturer references

The 1.4 HDi is available in three power outputs (54, 68 and 70 hp) but uses a single engine code: DV4TD. This variable-geometry turbo covers a wide range of equivalent references — more than twenty depending on the model year — making it essential to check the original reference on the turbo currently fitted before placing any order.

All turbos listed on this page are new parts, sold without any exchange of a used unit. Across all HDi engines on the 206, turbo failure is most commonly caused by a blocked oil feed circuit or degraded oil: fitting a new turbo without identifying and rectifying the root cause risks a rapid recurrence.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the turbo new or reconditioned?

The turbos on this page are new. Each product page states the original manufacturer reference and its equivalent references for your Peugeot 206 Turbo.

What warranty comes with the turbo?

Every turbo is guaranteed for 12 months, provided it is fitted by a professional. The warranty covers the part; labour is not included. Before fitting, the cause of the previous failure (lubrication, oil feed, intake leak, EGR / DPF clogging) must be fixed.

Do I need to send back my old turbo?

No. The turbos on this page are new and sold as a straight sale: nothing to send back, your old turbo stays with you and there is one single delivery.

How do I make sure I order the right turbo for my Peugeot 206 Turbo?

Compatibility depends on the engine code and the reference stamped on your turbo, not just on the model. Enter your number plate or request a quote: our advisers confirm the exact reference before you order. You can pay in up to 10 instalments.
