Diagnosing the turbo on your Fiat Fiorino before replacement
Before ordering a new turbo for your Fiat Fiorino, it is essential to confirm that the fault lies with the turbocharger and not with another component in the intake circuit. On the 1.3 Multijet, a gradual loss of power, a whistling noise under acceleration or exhaust smoke can also be caused by a clogged EGR valve or a blocked diesel particulate filter. A diagnostic scan can be used to check the boost pressure and rule out EGR-related fault codes before concluding that the turbo has failed. A visual inspection of the shaft play and the condition of the vanes is a useful addition to this check on a light commercial vehicle that is often put to heavy use in urban driving.
Compatibility of the new turbo for the Fiat Fiorino 1.3 Multijet
This new turbo is compatible with reference 822088-5009S, intended for Fiat Fiorino models fitted with a 1.3 Multijet engine, available in 75, 80 and 95 hp versions, with an engine capacity of 1248 cm³. Before placing an order, it is strongly recommended that you check the reference number on the plate of your old turbo, as well as the associated engine codes, to ensure perfect compatibility with your vehicle.
Exchange basis and warranty for your Fiorino
This turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so that your Fiorino is not left off the road during the work. The part comes with a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Fitting advice for the 1.3 Multijet
On this engine, the majority of turbo failures originate from a lubrication fault: incorrect oil, missed oil changes or a partially blocked oil feed pipe. Before fitting the new turbo, check the oil circuit, the condition of the air filter and the intercooler for leaks, as an air leak or contamination can accelerate wear on the new turbo. When starting up for the first time, prime the turbo with oil before the initial engine start, then drive gently for the first few kilometres to protect the newly fitted part on your Fiorino.
