A new turbo designed for everyday use on the Kia Rio 1.5 CRDi
The Kia Rio fitted with the 1.5 CRDi engine is typically used for commuting, urban back-and-forth journeys mixed with stretches of faster road, as well as everyday passenger and luggage transport. This kind of use — alternating extended idling in town with higher revs on faster roads — places considerable strain on the turbocharger: repeated pressure build-ups, frequent heat and cool-down cycles, and heightened sensitivity to oil quality. Over time, these stresses can weaken the bearings and variable geometry of the original turbo, which is why having a reliable new turbo is the best way to restore proper performance.
Compatibility with Kia Rio engines
This new turbo is compatible with reference 782404-5001S and fits Kia Rio models equipped with the 1.5 CRDi 88 hp and 1.5 CRDi 110 hp engines, carrying engine code D4FA, diesel, with an engine capacity of 1493 cm³. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference printed on the old turbo or on the vehicle registration document to confirm exact compatibility with your vehicle.
Exchange basis and warranty on this Kia Rio turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your vehicle is not left off the road. A 12-month parts warranty applies, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting the turbo on a Kia Rio D4FA
On the D4FA engine, turbo failure is frequently caused by insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil or missed oil changes, as well as a clogged air filter or an air intake that is not properly sealed. A damaged intercooler or cracked hoses can also lead to pressure loss that is harmful to the new turbo. Before fitting, check the oil circuit (hoses, return pipe, sump cleanliness), the condition of the intercooler and intake hoses, and the air intake. When starting up for the first time, pre-lubricating the new turbo with oil is essential to ensure the bearings are immediately lubricated as soon as the engine starts.
- Check the oil circuit before fitting
- Inspect the intercooler and hoses
- Clean or replace the air filter
- Pre-lubricate the new turbo with oil before the first start
- Drive gently after installation
