What changes behind the wheel of your Hyundai i30 with a turbo in good working order
On a Hyundai i30 fitted with the 1.6 CRDi 90 (D4FB) engine, a turbo in good working order makes itself felt from the very first miles: pull out of corners is sharper, the engine responds to the accelerator without any lag, and in-gear acceleration on both road and in town becomes smooth and linear again. By contrast, a worn turbo often shows itself through a gradual loss of power, exhaust smoke, or an unusual whistling noise — signs that should never be ignored on this diesel unit, which is fitted to a large proportion of the i30 fleet.
Compatibility of the new turbo for the i30 1.6 CRDi 90
This new turbo is compatible with reference 782404-5001S, dedicated to the 1.6 CRDi 90 (D4FB) engine in the Hyundai i30. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference shown on the data plate of your old turbo or on its housing, to confirm an exact match with your vehicle.
Exchange basis and warranty
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your i30 is not left off the road during the process. The part is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and during fitting
On the 1.6 CRDi D4FB, premature turbo failure is frequently linked to insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil or missed oil changes, as well as a clogged air filter or a cracked intercooler disrupting the air intake. Before fitting the new turbo, check the oil circuit (hoses and return line), the cleanliness of the intake hoses, and that there are no air intake leaks. When starting up for the first time, prime the oil circuit before the initial start, and drive gently for the first few kilometres to protect the longevity of the new turbo.
