A new turbo built for the Pajero's off-road demands
The Mitsubishi Pajero is frequently used in demanding conditions: dirt tracks, heavy loads, towing and serious off-road driving. This kind of use puts the turbocharger under considerable strain, as it must deliver stable boost pressure even at low revs and under heavy load. Over time, these repeated conditions can accelerate wear on the bearings and vanes, particularly if oil circuit maintenance is not kept up to scratch. To restore the vehicle's full off-road capability and traction, a new turbo compatible with reference 49177-01501 is available for this model.
Compatibility with Pajero 2.5 TD engines
This new turbo is compatible with the 2.5 TD engines fitted to the Mitsubishi Pajero, with engine codes 4D56 and 4D56T, in diesel form with an engine capacity of 2477 cm³. Before placing an order, it is strongly recommended that you check the reference number on the old turbo or on the vehicle's manufacturer plate, as several closely related versions may have been fitted to this model depending on the generation and market.
Exchange basis and warranty for your Pajero
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Pajero is not left off the road during the work. The purchase is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting
On a 4D56/4D56T engine used in off-road conditions, several factors can contribute to premature turbo failure: insufficient quality engine oil or overdue oil changes, an air filter clogged with dust from dirt tracks, or a fouled intercooler reducing the efficiency of intake air cooling. Before fitting the new turbo, check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses and the cleanliness of the air intake to avoid any contamination. On first start-up, remember to pre-lubricate the turbo with oil to ensure immediate bearing lubrication before the engine builds up to operating speed.
