What changes behind the wheel of your L200 with a new turbo
On a Mitsubishi L200 2.5 TD, a turbo in good condition makes itself felt immediately: throttle response becomes crisp again, the engine reacts without hesitation under acceleration, and the pick-up regains its full ability to tow or run fully loaded, even on rough tracks or at maximum payload. By contrast, a worn turbo shows itself through a loss of power, unusual exhaust smoke, or a whistling noise that grows louder under acceleration. Fitting a new turbo restores performance to original specification, with no hesitation or loss of boost pressure.
Compatibility of the turbo for Mitsubishi L200
This new turbo is compatible with reference 49177-02513, intended for Mitsubishi L200 vehicles fitted with the 2.5 TD engine, engine code 4D56, with a capacity of 2477 cm³ in diesel form. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the exact reference printed on your old turbo or on your vehicle registration document to confirm it matches your vehicle.
Exchange and warranty
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your L200 is not left off the road during the process. The part carries a 12-month warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting
On the 4D56 engine, most turbo failures stem from a lack of lubrication: poor-quality engine oil, missed oil changes, or a clogged air filter allowing contaminants to reach the turbine. It is also worth checking the condition of the intercooler and intake hoses, which often develop cracks with age, as well as the air intake and oil circuit (hoses and return line) before fitting the new turbo. On start-up, it is recommended to prime the turbo with oil before the first start to avoid the bearings running dry. Gentle driving during the first few kilometres will also help extend the life of the part.
