Before installing this new turbo, it is essential to check the condition of the oil circuit (feed and return hoses), the cleanliness of the air filter, and the airtightness of the air pipes through to the intercooler, in order to prevent any further premature failure. The quality of the engine oil, adherence to service intervals, and avoiding high revs immediately after a cold start all contribute directly to the longevity of the turbocharger. When recommissioning, it is recommended that the new turbo is primed with oil before the first engine start, to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings.
