It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your BMW Série 1 is not left off the road. Fitting advice for M47 and N47 engines

On the 120d and 118d engines, the leading cause of turbo failure remains insufficient lubrication or degraded engine oil: follow service intervals scrupulously and use an oil that meets the manufacturer's specifications. Before installation, check the condition of the air filter and intercooler, and ensure there are no leaks on the intake hoses, as any ingestion of particles or abnormal overpressure can quickly damage a new turbo. Also check that the oil circuit and lubrication pipes are clean, then prime the turbo with oil before the first start-up to ensure the bearings are lubricated immediately when the engine is started.
