This reconditioned Peugeot 205 1.1 TU1 gearbox, reference 2CA07, is a 5-speed manual unit designed for the TU1 petrol engines of 1124 cm³ fitted to the 205. The reconditioned 2CA07 gearbox is restored to near-new condition through a thorough workshop overhaul. The reconditioning process involves a complete strip-down, meticulous cleaning and inspection of every component, followed by replacement of all internal wear parts including gears, synchros, bearings and seals. The unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch.

Signs that the 2CA07 gearbox needs replacing

On a Peugeot 205 fitted with the TU1 engine, several symptoms point to a worn 2CA07 gearbox: crunching when selecting first or second gear, gears jumping out whilst driving, stiffness or resistance on certain ratios, grinding noise with the clutch depressed, difficulty engaging fifth gear, or an oil leak at the casing. As soon as any of these signs appear, it is advisable to have the gearbox inspected before wear worsens and causes damage to other transmission components.

Exchange basis: your garage is never left without the vehicle

Under the exchange arrangement, the reconditioned 2CA07 gearbox is dispatched before the old unit is collected. The original casing or block, provided it remains intact, is only returned after the reconditioned gearbox has been delivered and fitted, so the garage is never left without a unit and the vehicle is off the road for as short a time as possible. Return of the old gearbox is nonetheless required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

This reconditioned gearbox is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments, to help you manage your budget.
