Signs That Your DSG 7 Gearbox Needs Replacing

On this Golf, a worn DSG 7 will often show recognisable symptoms before it fails completely.

• Juddering or jerking during gear changes, particularly when cold;

How This DSG 7 Gearbox Is Reconditioned

The gearbox is fully stripped down, and every component is cleaned and inspected to assess its condition. Gears, synchros, bearings and seals showing signs of wear are replaced. The unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before final sign-off.

Exclusion: The Mechatronic Unit Is Not Included

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: it is not supplied or included in the sale, it is neither reconditioned nor tested, and the vehicle's original unit must be reused by the customer. The dual-clutch, however, is included with this gearbox reference TTT.

Exchange Basis: Delivered Before the Old Unit Is Returned

This reconditioned gearbox is dispatched before the old unit is collected. The gearbox is therefore delivered and fitted without the vehicle being left off the road waiting for an exchange. The old gearbox — casing and block intact — is only collected after the reconditioned unit has been delivered and fitted. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
