This reconditioned DSG 7 gearbox is designed for the Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI with an engine capacity of 1390 cm³, compatible with engine codes BMY, BLG, CAXA, CAVD, CXSA, CPTA, CZCA and CZEA, under reference QRL. Reconditioning follows a rigorous process: the gearbox is fully stripped, cleaned and inspected in detail; internal wear parts such as gears, synchros, bearings and seals are replaced; the unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch.

Signs That Your DSG Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a Golf 1.4 TSI fitted with a DSG 7 gearbox, the following warning signs should not be ignored:

• juddering or jerking during gear changes;
• slipping felt under acceleration, without a consistent rise in engine speed;
• delayed or hesitant gear shifts, particularly when cold;

• metallic noise or grinding when engaging a gear;
• limp-home mode activated, limiting available power.

Exclusion: Original Mechatronic Unit Retained

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: it is not supplied or included in the sale, it is neither reconditioned nor tested, and it remains the vehicle's original unit, which must be refitted by you during installation. The dual-clutch assembly, however, is included with this QRL gearbox.

Deferred Exchange

This reconditioned gearbox is dispatched first, before the old unit is collected. Your garage is therefore never left without a part and the vehicle is not off the road waiting for the exchange. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after delivery and installation of the new unit; its return remains mandatory in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
