Citroën Jumper Turbo: 100% diesel, but how many different references depending on the engine?

Unlike some light commercial vehicles that span both petrol and diesel, the Jumper is represented here exclusively in diesel form — from the 2.0 HDi to the 2.8 HDi, including the BlueHDi range. That consistency does not make identification any simpler, however: five distinct engine families are represented, each with its own engine codes and its own turbo references. All parts listed on this page are new turbos, sold as direct-sale items with no old unit to return.

Five engine families, five sets of references

The 2.0 HDi 84 hp (codes 8140.67, RHV/DW10TD, RHV/DW10UTD) and the 2.8 HDi 128 (code 8140.43S) are older-generation fixed-geometry units with a mechanical wastegate: boost pressure is regulated by a valve, with no variable vanes. The 2.2 HDi (codes 4HU, 4HV), covering outputs from 100 to 130 hp, share the same variable-geometry turbo family — but be aware: the four power outputs do not necessarily correspond to a single reference. On the BlueHDi — 2.0 and 2.2, from 110 to 165 hp — codes 4HA, 4HB, 4HH, AHM, AHN and AHP cover a range of six power outputs: engine capacity alone is not enough to determine the correct reference; the engine code stamped on the block is essential.

Symptoms and causes of failure on these commercial engine units

The Jumper is a light commercial vehicle that is frequently operated under load, with demanding thermal cycles. The variable-geometry turbos found on the HDi and BlueHDi generations are prone to vane fouling from soot deposits, leading to whistling, black smoke or loss of power. On wastegate units, a faulty actuator or excessive bearing play results in irregular boost pressure. In every case, identifying and rectifying the root cause of the failure — oil quality, lubrication circuit, blocked diesel particulate filter — is essential before any replacement is carried out, otherwise the new turbo fitted will deteriorate rapidly.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the turbo new or reconditioned?

The turbos on this page are new. Each product page states the original manufacturer reference and its equivalent references for your Citroën Jumper Turbo.

What warranty comes with the turbo?

Every turbo is guaranteed for 12 months, provided it is fitted by a professional. The warranty covers the part; labour is not included. Before fitting, the cause of the previous failure (lubrication, oil feed, intake leak, EGR / DPF clogging) must be fixed.

Do I need to send back my old turbo?

No. The turbos on this page are new and sold as a straight sale: nothing to send back, your old turbo stays with you and there is one single delivery.

How do I make sure I order the right turbo for my Citroën Jumper Turbo?

Compatibility depends on the engine code and the reference stamped on your turbo, not just on the model. Enter your number plate or request a quote: our advisers confirm the exact reference before you order. You can pay in up to 10 instalments.
