Jumper diesel 2.2 or 2.0: why the same engine capacity isn't enough to identify the right engine

On the Citroën Jumper, the engine capacity shown on the registration document tells you very little about the actual engine fitted. A Jumper equipped with a 2.2 HDi can come with engines as different as the P22DTE/4HU, P22DTE/4HV, DW12RUC/4HH or DW12RUE/4HK: four distinct references, none of them interchangeable. Likewise on the 2.0 side, the DW10FUD/AHN, DW10FUE/AHM and DW10FUC/AHP correspond to different engines depending on the production phase and power output. Only the engine code stamped on the block itself — not the quoted power figure — can pinpoint the exact part required.

Seven diesel engines, two main engine families

This collection covers the Jumper from 2002 à 2021 and lists seven engine variants: 2.0 HDi, 2.0 BlueHDi, 2.0 BlueHDi 160, 2.2 HDi, 2.2 HDi 150, 2.2 BlueHDi 165 and 3.0 HDi. The engine codes fall mainly into two families: the PSA DW10/DW12 family (2.0 engines) and the P22DTE / Iveco F1C family (2.2 and 3.0 engines, born from the Fiat–PSA light commercial vehicle partnership). These two lineages share no common parts: a DW12 block cannot be substituted for a P22DTE, even where the quoted power outputs overlap. The 2.2 HDi alone accounts for the vast majority of available references, with over forty engine code variants listed on this page.

Engine codes in CYF, DRF, CVF, SRF, QVF: the BlueHDi naming convention

With the move to Euro 6 emissions standards and the introduction of the BlueHDi, a new series of codes appeared on the Jumper: CYFA, CYFB, CYFD, CYFF, CYFG, CY14, CVF5, CVFF, DRFA to DRF5, SRFA, SRFB, QVFA, QWFA, PGFA, P8FA, P8FB, UHFA, UHFB. These codes correspond to the post-2016 2.0 BlueHDi and 2.2 BlueHDi engine variants, and are structurally different from the earlier HDi generations. Before ordering a bare engine for a Jumper from this period, it is essential to read this code directly from the block itself, as two Jumpers of the same year and body style can carry different codes depending on their exact date of manufacture.
