Reconditioned Citroën C5 Engine

C5 I (2001–2008) or C5 II (2008–2017): two generations, two engine catalogues

The Citroën C5 spans sixteen years of production — from 2005 to 2017 in our catalogue — with a clear break in 2008 when the second generation arrived. This platform change matters when it comes to a reconditioned engine: several engine codes can exist within the same engine capacity depending on the generation, and a single model year may have received more than one block variant as production revisions were introduced. The year alone is not enough — the engine code stamped on the block is the only reliable reference for ordering the correct part.

The 2.0 HDi dominates, but its fourteen codes are not interchangeable

With fourteen codes listed — AHZ, G6DA, G6DB, G6DC, G6DD, G6DE, G6DF, G6DG, RH02, TXWA, UBGA, UFBA, UFDA, UFDB — the 2.0 HDi is by far the most widely represented engine in this collection. Each code corresponds to a specific configuration: never assume that a G6DA and a UFDB are interchangeable simply because they share the same engine capacity. The 1.6 HDi, for its part, covers ten distinct codes (BH01, DV6DTED, DV6ETED, T1BB, T1DA, T1WA, T1WB, T3DA, T3DB, TZJA), inherited from several stages of emissions development between Euro 4 and Euro 5.

Petrol and BlueHDi: the end-of-cycle engines

The petrol engines — 1.6 THP (5FV) and 1.6 VTi (5F02) — belong exclusively to the C5 II. The 1.6 THP is a turbocharged engine well known for timing chain and oil pressure issues on early versions; a reconditioned block therefore often starts from a heavily used unit. Right at the end of the model's production run, three more recent codes appear: DW10FD AHX for the 2.0 HDi/BlueHDi, DV5RC_YHZ for the 1.5 BlueHDi and EB2ADTS_HNS for the 1.2 PureTech. These three codes correspond to the Euro 6 engines introduced on the C5 at the very end of production and are not found on earlier generations. All engines in this collection are offered as bare engines.
