Jumpy diesel: same engine capacity, different engine codes depending on the generation

On the Citroën Jumpy, the engine code stamped on the block is the only reliable way to match a reconditioned engine to a specific vehicle. Two 2.0-litre engines appear in the catalogue — the 2.0 HDi and the 2.0 BlueHDi 120/122 — with distinct codes: the DW10 family (DW10CD_AHZ, DW10FC_AHH, DW10FD_AHX) or the G6D_ and QXB_ codes on the HDi side, and the code AHK (DW10FE) for the BlueHDi. These blocks cannot be substituted for one another, even under the same bonnet.

1.6 HDi, 1.6 BlueHDi and 1.5 BlueHDi: three 4-cylinder families that must not be mixed up

The 1.6 HDi covers several codes (9H07, 9HU, DV6UTED4, DV6FDU_BHV) corresponding to successive technical revisions across different model years. The 1.6 BlueHDi 115 carries the code DV6FCU / BHX, which is distinct from all HDi codes: confusing the two DV6 families when ordering is a common mistake. The more recent 1.5 BlueHDi is identified by the code DV5RUC_YHV — a block exclusive to the third generation of the Jumpy.

The 1.9 D WJY: the block fitted to the earliest generations (from 1998)

The 1.9 D code WJY is the oldest in the range, fitted to the Jumpy from 1998. This naturally aspirated, non-common-rail engine shares no mechanical components with the HDi blocks that followed it. The typical symptoms on this block — worn piston rings, persistent blue smoke — are quite different from the turbo or injector failures seen on the HDi and BlueHDi generations. Checking the engine code before placing any order remains essential, regardless of the vehicle's model year.
