How a healthy turbo transforms your Jumper's performance
On a Citroën Jumper, forced induction directly determines the vehicle's ability to tow, carry loads and pull away under weight, whether on urban delivery runs or on the motorway fully laden. A turbo in good condition delivers a crisp power build-up, immediate throttle response from low revs, and no smoke or abnormal whistling from the exhaust. Conversely, a worn turbo makes itself known through a gradual loss of power, increased diesel consumption, and sometimes a switch into limp mode — particularly damaging on a van that is regularly working at capacity.
Compatibility of the new turbo for the Citroën Jumper
This new turbo is compatible with reference 53039880521 and has been identified on the Diesel engines 2.0 BlueHDi 110, 2.0 BlueHDi 130 and 2.0 BlueHDi 163, as well as the 2.2 BlueHDi 120, 2.2 BlueHDi 140 and 2.2 BlueHDi 165, with engine codes 4HA, 4HB, 4HH, AHM, AHN and AHP. Before placing an order, we strongly recommend checking the reference printed on the old turbo or on the engine plate of your Jumper to confirm exact compatibility with your vehicle.
Exchange basis and warranty on this Jumper turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Jumper is off the road for as little time as possible. This turbo comes with a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Fitting and maintenance advice for your Jumper turbo
On the BlueHDi engines fitted to the Jumper, premature turbo failure is most commonly caused by a lubrication fault — typically the wrong grade of oil, missed oil changes, or a clogged oil filter. A blocked air filter or a cracked intercooler can also accelerate premature turbo wear by disrupting the air intake. Before fitting, it is essential to check the condition of the air intake hoses and the oil circuit, clean the pipework, and ensure there are no metallic residues present. On start-up, priming the turbo with oil is recommended to ensure the bearings are lubricated immediately from the very first start, reducing the risk of early seizure.
