Advice before and after fitting
On the DV6ATED4 engine, premature turbo failure is often caused by insufficient lubrication due to a clogged oil filter, missed oil changes, or the wrong grade of oil. Before fitting the new turbo, check the condition of the air filter, intercooler and intake hoses, as well as the cleanliness of the oil circuit, to avoid damaging the new part. When starting up for the first time, make sure the turbo is primed with oil before the initial start, then drive gently for the first few kilometres to allow the bearings to bed in.
