Restore the full power of the 2.0 TDI on your Jetta

On a Volkswagen Jetta fitted with the 2.0 TDI 140, a turbo in good condition makes an immediate difference behind the wheel: mid-range response becomes crisp again from low revs, the car no longer hesitates under acceleration, and the engine regains its smoothness at a steady cruising speed – particularly when overtaking on the road. A worn turbo, by contrast, shows itself through a gradual loss of power, an unusual whistling noise, exhaust smoke, or the engine warning light coming on: all signs that a prompt replacement is needed to protect the rest of the emissions system.

Compatibility with the Jetta 2.0 TDI 140

This new turbo is compatible with reference 53039887005 and fits the Volkswagen Jetta with the 2.0 TDI 140 engine, covering engine codes BKD, CBDB, CBEA and CJAA. Before placing an order, please check the reference printed on your old turbo as well as the engine code shown on the V5C or on the engine block, to confirm exact compatibility with your vehicle.

Exchange basis and warranty

This turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required; however, it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Jetta is never left off the road unnecessarily. The part is covered by a 12-month warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Advice before and after fitting

On a 2.0 TDI, turbo failure is often caused by a lubrication problem: incorrect oil, missed oil changes, or a blocked oil feed pipe. Before fitting the new turbo, check the oil circuit (feed and return pipes), the air filter, and the condition of the intercooler and intake hoses, which can allow contaminants to reach the new turbo. On first start-up, let the engine idle for a few moments without revving it, to allow the oil to prime the turbo properly and avoid any dry running at start-up.
