Signs of a failing turbo on the Audi A4 2.0 TFSI
On the Audi A4 2.0 TFSI, a turbo that is nearing the end of its life will often make itself known through a loss of power under acceleration, an unusual whistling noise from under the bonnet, blue or black smoke from the exhaust, or an engine warning light accompanied by a fault code related to boost pressure. These symptoms should prompt the driver to act quickly, as they typically indicate excessive play in the bearings, an oil leak into the intake or exhaust, or a faulty geometry actuator. Ignoring these warning signs risks causing far more serious — and costly — engine damage.

Exchange and warranty for your Audi A4
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of your old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. The old unit is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Audi A4 is not left off the road unnecessarily. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting
Before fitting the new turbo to your 2.0 TFSI, check the condition of the oil circuit, ensure the hoses are clean and that there are no blockages on the air intake. The quality and freshness of the engine oil, along with a clean air filter, are key factors in the longevity of the turbo. When starting the engine for the first time, carry out an oil priming procedure to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings and avoid any dry running on first start-up. Gentle driving during the first few kilometres is also recommended to protect the new part.
