What changes behind the wheel of your Range Rover with a new turbo
On a Range Rover fitted with the 4.4-litre V8 diesel, the sequential twin-turbo forced induction system directly governs the low-rev torque reserve. When one of the two turbochargers begins to weaken, the driver feels it immediately: hesitation on acceleration, a sluggish feel from a standstill, then a noticeable loss of power accompanied by the vehicle entering limp-home mode. By replacing the faulty unit with a new turbo compatible with reference 793829-5006S, you restore a linear throttle response, smooth and progressive power delivery, and the refined running character of this twin-turbo V8 — with no whistling or siren-like noise under acceleration.
Compatibility with Range Rover engines
This new turbo is intended for Range Rovers fitted with the 4.4-litre V8 diesel engine, sold under the commercial designations 4.4 TDV8 313 CV and 4.4 SDV8 340 CV, with engine codes 448DT, AJD-V8 and SDV8. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference printed on your old turbo as well as its position (right-hand or left-hand side, on this twin-turbo setup) to ensure a perfect match with your vehicle.

Exchange basis and warranty on this turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of your old turbo is required in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, but it is only collected after the new unit has been delivered and fitted, so your Range Rover is not left off the road. It comes with a 12-month parts warranty, provided fitting is carried out by a professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before fitting and first start-up
On this twin-turbo V8, lubrication is the most critical factor: insufficient oil pressure or a missed oil change will quickly damage the bearings of both turbochargers. Before fitting, check the oil circuit, the condition of the boost hoses and the cleanliness of the air intake, as any residual contamination can damage a new turbo within just a few kilometres. Also check the air filter and intercooler, then prime the oil system before the first start-up to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings.
