A new turbo built for the sporting character of the Subaru WRX
The Subaru WRX is a compact performance saloon designed for dynamic driving, sharp acceleration and frequent high-rev use – sometimes in intensive road use or on track days. This style of driving places considerable demands on the turbocharger, which operates repeatedly at high temperatures and pressures. A worn or poorly lubricated turbo quickly makes itself known through a loss of power under acceleration, an unusual whistling noise or heavier exhaust smoke – warning signs that should never be ignored on this type of turbocharged petrol engine.
Compatibility of the new turbo with the WRX engine
This new turbo is compatible with reference VF45 and fits the Subaru WRX 2.0 Turbo petrol engine with the EJ20 unit. Before placing an order, it is recommended that you check the reference marked on the old turbo as well as on the vehicle's engine plate, as several turbo variants may have been fitted depending on the WRX version and market.

Exchange and warranty
This turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, the old turbo must be returned, but it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so that the Subaru WRX is not left off the road unnecessarily. The turbo is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Tips for a successful fitment on the WRX
On a performance engine such as the EJ20, the longevity of the new turbo depends directly on the quality and regular changing of the engine oil, as well as the condition of the air filter and intercooler. Before installation, the oil circuit, lubrication hoses and air intake should be checked to rule out any contamination from residue left by the old turbo. When starting the engine for the first time, priming the new turbo with oil is essential to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings from the very first start – a particularly important step on an engine used in sporting driving.
