A new turbo designed for real-world use on the Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro 272 ch
The Audi A6 fitted with the V6 3.0 TDI quattro 272 ch is a favourite with drivers who regularly cover long motorway distances, often with a heavy load – towing a trailer, a full boot, four passengers. This intensive use puts considerable strain on the turbocharger, particularly during sustained acceleration and high-speed overtaking. Conversely, predominantly urban use – short journeys where the engine never reaches its optimum operating temperature – encourages carbon build-up in the variable geometry and premature wear of the electronic actuator. In either case, a worn turbo will typically show itself through a gradual loss of power, an unusual whistling noise, or noticeably increased exhaust smoke.
Compatibility of the new turbo with the Audi A6 3.0 TDI
This new turbo is compatible with reference 907545-5001S and fits the Audi A6 with the 3.0 TDI quattro 272 ch engine – a 2967 cm³ diesel unit identified by engine code CRTD. Before placing an order, please check the exact reference on your old turbo or on your vehicle registration document, as certain engine variants may share closely related components.

Fitting advice for the A6 3.0 TDI CRTD turbo
Before fitting the new turbo, it is recommended that you check the oil circuit (pressure, cleanliness, absence of metal particles), the condition of the oil feed and return hoses, and the air intake and intercooler, to avoid any contamination of the new unit. Priming with oil before the first start-up ensures the bearings are properly lubricated from the moment the engine fires. To maximise the turbo's service life, follow the oil quality and change intervals specified for this V6 TDI, keep an eye on the air filter, and avoid revving the engine hard immediately after a cold start.
