A new turbo designed for the sporting use of the BMW Série 3 335i
The BMW Série 3 335i – whether in saloon (E90), Touring estate (E91), coupé (E92) or cabriolet (E93) form – is prized for its dynamic character and its ability to be driven at a brisk pace, including on motorways or in spirited driving on mountain roads. This kind of use, combined with the high boost pressure delivered by the 3.0i twin-turbo petrol engine, places considerable strain on the turbines. Repeated hard acceleration without a gradual warm-up, switching the engine off immediately after a fast run, or using engine oil unsuited to high-performance applications can all accelerate wear on the turbocharger's bearings and shafts.
Compatibility of the new turbo with the Série 3 335i
This new turbo is compatible with reference 49131-07089 and fits the 335i 3.0i petrol engines, with an engine capacity of 2979 cm³, associated with engine codes N54B30A, N54B30B and N55B30A. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference printed on your old turbo or on your V5C registration document to confirm an exact match with your vehicle.

Advice before fitting to the N54/N55 engine
Before installing this turbo, check the condition of the oil circuit, the cleanliness of the feed and return hoses, as well as the air intake and intercooler, to avoid any premature contamination. Pre-lubricating the turbine with oil before the first start is recommended to ensure immediate lubrication. Also check the quality and frequency of engine oil changes, as well as the condition of the air filter – both are key factors in the longevity of the turbo on this type of twin-turbo petrol engine.
