This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required; however, it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your BMW X3 is not left off the road unnecessarily. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before fitting the turbo to the M47D20
On this engine, turbo failure is frequently linked to insufficient lubrication, unsuitable oil quality, missed oil changes, or a clogged air filter allowing contaminants through. Before fitting, it is important to check the oil circuit (hoses and return line), the condition of the intercooler and boost hoses, and the air intake, in order to rule out any cause of further failure. When starting the engine for the first time, priming the turbo with oil is essential to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings from the moment of start-up.
