Why does the turbo on your Volkswagen Eos 2.0 TDI 140 eventually fail?
On the Volkswagen Eos 2.0 TDI 140, the variable-geometry turbocharger is put under considerable strain by the pressure variations imposed on the moving vane mechanism. The most common causes of failure observed on this engine are the gradual fouling of the variable-geometry mechanism, the use of low-quality engine oil or oil that has been changed too infrequently, and a clogged air filter that disrupts the turbo's air supply. Driving habits such as sudden high-rev acceleration without a warm-up period, or switching the engine off immediately after a hard run, also accelerate wear on the central bearing and the bearings.
Compatibility of the new turbo for the Eos 2.0 TDI 140
This new turbo is compatible with reference 765261-5008S and is intended for Volkswagen Eos models fitted with the 2.0 TDI 140 engine, corresponding to engine codes BMM, BMP and CBAB. Before placing an order, it is essential to check the exact reference marked on the old turbo or on the vehicle's number plate, as several variable-geometry variants may have been fitted to this engine depending on the production period.
