On this turbocharged petrol engine, turbo lifespan depends heavily on the quality and regular changing of the engine oil, as well as the condition of the air filter, which protects the turbo's vanes from contaminants. Before fitting, it is essential to check the oil circuit (feed and return lines), the condition of the hoses and the air intake, to avoid any contamination of the new turbo. On first start-up, priming with oil is recommended to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings from the very first engine revolutions, minimising the risk of premature wear.
