Reconditioning involves a complete strip-down of the gearbox, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, followed by replacement of the gears, synchros, bearings and worn seals; the unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch.

The dual-clutch assembly, however, is supplied new with this DSG 7 gearbox reference PMP.
