This Volkswagen Polo 1.4 16V gearbox has been fully reconditioned to restore all the qualities of a new transmission, under reference GRZ, compatible with engine code BBY and an engine capacity of 1390 cm³. Every gearbox bearing reference GRZ is completely stripped, cleaned and inspected before its internal wear components — including gears, synchros, bearings and seals — are replaced. It is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested to ensure performance that meets original factory standards.

Signs That Your Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a Polo fitted with this 5-speed manual gearbox, several warning signs should not be ignored: stiff or imprecise gear changes, crunching or grinding when engaging a gear, juddering under acceleration, or an abnormal bearing noise while driving. An oil leak from the casing or a gear that jumps out on its own are also serious indicators of internal wear requiring prompt attention.

Exchange Basis: No Waiting Around for Your Garage

Under the exchange scheme, the reconditioned gearbox is dispatched and delivered first, allowing the garage to fit it straight away without any vehicle downtime or waiting for parts. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the reconditioned unit has been delivered and fitted. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with the applicable Terms and Conditions.
