More compact and better suited to urban driving, the F40 generation marks a new chapter. The 118i produces 140 hp, the 118d diesel 150 hp, and the 120d goes from 184 to 190 hp. BMW fitted it with an 8-speed Sport automatic gearbox combining paddle shifters and a gear lever, making it easy to switch between automatic and manual modes.
