In diesel, the sDrive 18d 150 hp is available with either a BVM6 or a BVA8, while the xDrive 20d 190 hp and xDrive 25d 231 hp receive the BVA8. The 2019 update further sharpens the crossover's dynamics with three- and four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engines. The eight-speed Steptronic, operable via paddle shifters or the gear lever, becomes more prominent, but BMW retains the BVM6 on certain versions, alongside a six- or seven-speed automatic depending on the engine, including the xDrive 25e hybrid.
