How a healthy turbo transforms your Ford Transit

Day in, day out, a commercial vehicle like the Ford Transit endures heavy load cycles and frequent hard acceleration, often fully laden or towing. When the turbo is working properly, throttle response becomes crisp again from low revs, black smoke on acceleration disappears, and fuel consumption returns to a sensible level. A worn turbo, on the other hand, means a noticeable loss of power, an unusual whistling noise or exhaust smoke – all symptoms that seriously hamper the Transit's working life.

Compatibility of this new turbo with the Ford Transit

This new turbo is compatible with reference 49131-05311, intended for Ford Transit models fitted with the 2.2 TDCi engine. The engines covered include the 85, 110, 115 and 140 hp versions, associated with engine codes QVFA, SRFA, SRFB, SRFC, SRFD, SRFE, P8FA, P8FB, PGFA, PGFB, UHFA, UHFB and UHFC, with a 2198 cm3 diesel engine capacity. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference printed on your Transit's old turbo to confirm an exact match with your vehicle.

Exchange basis and warranty on this turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. A 12-month parts warranty applies, provided fitting is carried out by a professional.

Advice before and after fitting on a Transit 2.2 TDCi

Turbo failure on this engine is most commonly caused by a lubrication fault due to incorrect oil grade or missed oil changes, a clogged air filter, or a cracked intake pipe at the intercooler. Before fitting, check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses and the cleanliness of the air intake. After installation, prime the turbo with oil before the first start-up to ensure the bearings are immediately lubricated. Payment for your order can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
