What changes behind the wheel of the Pajero with a healthy turbo
On a Mitsubishi Pajero fitted with the 3.2 DI-D engine, a turbo in good condition makes itself felt immediately: crisp throttle response from low revs, smooth and linear power delivery, and no smoke under acceleration. A worn turbo, by contrast, shows itself through a gradual loss of power, an unusual whistling noise, blue or black exhaust smoke, and sometimes an illuminated engine warning light. For a vehicle regularly used under load or off-road, fitting a high-performing turbocharger restores the torque needed for demanding manoeuvres and helps keep fuel consumption in check.
Compatibility with the Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 DI-D
This new turbo is compatible with reference 49135-02921, intended for Mitsubishi Pajero models fitted with the 3.2 DI-D engine, engine code 4M41, with an engine capacity of 3200 cm³, running on diesel. Before placing an order, it is strongly recommended that you check the reference printed on the old turbo or on the vehicle's manufacturer plate, to confirm exact compatibility with your Pajero.

Exchange basis and warranty on this turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so that the Pajero is not left off the road during the process. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, provided fitting is carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting
On the 4M41 engine, turbo failure most commonly stems from a lubrication fault caused by poor-quality oil, missed oil changes, or a clogged air filter allowing contaminants to reach the compressor. A blocked or cracked intercooler can also cause the turbo to overheat prematurely. Before fitting, the oil circuit, lubrication pipes and air intake should all be checked to rule out any external cause of failure. On start-up, it is recommended to prime the turbo with oil to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings and avoid any dry running on first start. Driving gently during the first few kilometres will also help extend the life of the part.
