This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted to your Astra, so your vehicle is not left off the road during the process. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a professional. Payment can be spread over up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and during fitting on the 1.9 CDTI
On this diesel engine, turbo failure is frequently linked to insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil or neglected oil changes, as well as a clogged air filter or a faulty intercooler. Aggressive driving — revving the engine hard immediately after a cold start — also accelerates wear. Before fitting to your Astra H, check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses and the cleanliness of the air intake, then prime the turbo with oil before the first start-up to ensure proper lubrication from the moment the engine fires.
