What a healthy turbo does for your Peugeot 308
On a Peugeot 308 fitted with the 1.6 HDi/BlueHDi 100, a turbo in good condition makes an immediate difference: crisper pick-up from low revs, no blue or black smoke under acceleration, and a stable idle. A worn turbo, on the other hand, shows itself through a loss of power, an unusual whistling noise, excessive oil consumption or an engine warning light. Fitting a new turbo restores the vehicle's original performance, whether you're driving in town or on the motorway.
Compatibility of the new turbo for the Peugeot 308
This new turbo is compatible with reference 49172-03000, fitted to Peugeot 308 models equipped with the 1.6 HDi 100 and 1.6 BlueHDi 100 engines, corresponding to engine code BHY (DV6FD), with an engine capacity of 1560 cm3 in Diesel form. Before placing an order, we strongly recommend checking the reference printed on the casing of your original turbo, as several turbo variants may exist depending on the exact version and engine output.

Exchange basis and warranty
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required, but it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your 308 is never left off the road unnecessarily. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and during fitting
On the 1.6 HDi/BlueHDi, turbo failure most commonly results from inadequate lubrication caused by poor-quality oil, missed oil changes or a clogged oil filter. A dirty air filter or a cracked intercooler can also accelerate premature wear of the turbine. Before fitting the new turbo, check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses and the cleanliness of the air intake. When starting the engine for the first time, prime the turbo with oil before the initial start-up to ensure the bearings are lubricated immediately.
