Signs of a worn turbo on the Audi Q2 2.0 TDI 190 quattro
On the Audi Q2 fitted with the 2.0 TDI 190 ch quattro engine (engine code DFHA), a turbo nearing the end of its life typically makes itself known through a loss of power under acceleration, a high-pitched whistling noise from under the bonnet, blue or black exhaust smoke, and the engine warning light coming on alongside an emissions management message. Excessive play in the turbo shaft or unusually high engine oil consumption are further warning signs not to be overlooked on this compact SUV, which is often used in mixed town and road driving.
About the new turbo for the Audi Q2
This new turbo is compatible with reference 04L253124, designed to fit the Audi Q2 in its 2.0 TDI 190 ch quattro version. It provides the diesel engine with the air boost needed to deliver the power and torque specified by the manufacturer, whilst meeting the emissions standards applicable to this engine.
Engine compatibility and reference verification
This new turbo is intended for the 2.0 TDI 190 ch quattro engine, engine code DFHA, with an engine capacity of 1968 cm³. Before placing an order, it is strongly recommended that you check the reference number stamped on the old turbo or on the vehicle's identification plate, as certain Audi Q2 engine variants may use closely related but non-interchangeable references.
Exchange basis and warranty on this Audi Q2 turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required; however, it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Audi Q2 is never left off the road unnecessarily. A 12-month parts warranty applies, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Fitting advice to protect your new turbo
Before installing the new turbo, it is essential to check the oil circuit (feed and return hoses), the cleanliness of the air filter, and the condition of the intercooler, in order to prevent premature fouling. On this 2.0 TDI diesel engine, the quality and frequency of engine oil changes play a decisive role in the longevity of the turbo. When starting the engine for the first time, the turbo should be primed with oil before initial start-up, to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings and a smooth, gradual build-up of oil pressure.
