A new turbo designed for the Mercedes Classe E 400

The Classe E 400 appeals to drivers who regularly cover motorway miles, tackle long-distance journeys and call on the V6 biturbo's torque for overtaking or carrying a full load of passengers and luggage. This demanding use, combined with brisk acceleration, puts both turbochargers under considerable thermal and mechanical stress. A new turbo compatible with reference 9V120 restores the original boost pressure and prevents the power loss or exhaust smoke that are the tell-tale signs of a worn turbine.

Compatibility with the Classe E 400 engine

This new turbo is compatible with the 3.0 V6 biturbo petrol engine (engine codes M276.820, M276.823) fitted to the Mercedes Classe E 400. Before placing an order, it is strongly recommended that you check the exact reference marked on the old turbo or on the engine plate, as several turbo variants may exist depending on position (left-hand or right-hand side) and vehicle version.

Exchange basis and warranty on this new turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required, but it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so the Classe E 400 is never left off the road. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over up to 10 instalments.

Advice before fitting to the V6 biturbo

On the M276 biturbo engine, premature turbo failure is often caused by insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil or missed oil-change intervals. A clogged air filter or dirty intake tract can also accelerate bearing wear. Before fitting the new turbo, check the oil circuit, the condition of the boost hoses and the cleanliness of the air intake, then pre-lubricate the cartridge with oil before the first start-up to ensure immediate lubrication of the new turbo.

  • Check the reference on the old turbo before ordering
  • Inspect the oil circuit and hoses
  • Clean or replace the air filter if necessary
  • Pre-lubricate the turbo with oil before starting
  • Drive gently for the first few kilometres
