This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Scénic is never left off the road unnecessarily. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over up to 10 instalments.
Symptoms and advice before fitting on the 1.9 dCi
On the Scénic's 1.9 dCi engine, a loss of power, blue or black smoke on acceleration, an unusual whistling noise, or an illuminated engine warning light may all point to a failing turbo. Common causes of turbo failure include insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil or oil that has not been changed at the recommended intervals, a clogged air filter, or a leaking intercooler allowing contaminants through.
- Check the oil circuit and clean the oil strainer
- Inspect the condition of the hoses and air intake before fitting
- Prime the turbo with oil before the first start-up
