Diagnosing the turbo on your Renault Twingo before replacing it

Before placing an order, it is recommended that you confirm the turbocharger is indeed the cause of the fault on your Renault Twingo II fitted with the 1.2 petrol engine. Checking the boost pressure, visually inspecting the impeller wheel (axial play, signs of rubbing, oil leaks at the seals) and examining the hoses and manifold will help you avoid an unnecessary replacement. A fault code related to boost pressure, a gradual loss of power, or an unusual whistling noise from the engine are all warning signs that should not be ignored before proceeding with a replacement.

Compatibility of the turbo for the Renault Twingo II petrol

This new turbo is compatible with reference 49173-07621, intended for Renault Twingo II models fitted with the 1.2 Turbo 100 CV and 1.2 TCe 101/102 CV petrol engines of 1149 cm³, carrying engine codes D4F 780, D4F 782, D4F 784 and D4F 786. Before ordering, we recommend checking this reference directly on the old turbo or on your vehicle registration document to ensure perfect compatibility with your vehicle.

Exchange basis and warranty for this Twingo turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of your old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Twingo is not left off the road. The part comes with a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment for your order can be spread over up to 10 instalments.

Fitting advice for a 1.2 petrol engine

The reliability of a new turbo depends greatly on the condition of the lubrication circuit: before fitting, check the cleanliness of the oil filter, the quality and service intervals of the engine oil, as well as the condition of the air filter and intercooler — a frequent source of fouling on these turbocharged engines. Also check for any leaks on the intake and oil return hoses before securing the new turbo. When starting the engine for the first time, prime the oil circuit to avoid any dry running at start-up, which will help preserve the service life of the new part fitted to your Twingo.
