This reconditioned gearbox is designed for the Audi A3 1.8 TFSI, a 1798 cm³ petrol engine, and carries the reference MGL. Reconditioning involves a complete strip-down of the S tronic 7 gearbox, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, followed by replacement of any worn gears, synchros, bearings and seals. The gearbox is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch, ensuring performance that matches the original specification.

Signs That Your S tronic 7 Gearbox Needs Replacing

On an A3 fitted with this automated dual-clutch gearbox, the following symptoms should not be ignored:

• juddering or jerking during gear changes
• slipping felt under acceleration
• automatic gearbox warning light illuminated on the dashboard
• limp-home mode or loss of power
• abnormal noise in park position or at idle

This gearbox is supplied with a new dual-clutch. However, it is sold without the mechatronic unit: this electronic component is neither reconditioned nor tested, is not supplied or included in the sale, and remains the vehicle's original unit, to be reused by the customer.

Exchange Basis: Immediate Delivery, Return Later

This gearbox is offered on an exchange basis, rebuilt to 0 km. It is dispatched without waiting for the old unit to be returned, so the garage is never left without a gearbox and the vehicle is not left stranded on the ramp. The old gearbox – casing and block intact – is only collected after the new gearbox has been delivered and fitted. Its return is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

This reference MGL is compatible with engines identified by the codes BYT, CDAA and CJSA fitted to the Audi A3 1.8 TFSI.

Warranty and Payment

This reconditioned gearbox comes with a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
