Signs That Your Gearbox Needs Replacing

On an Opel Meriva fitted with this 5-speed manual gearbox, several warning signs should not be ignored:

• stiff or jerky gear changes, particularly when shifting from first to second;
• crunching or grinding noises when changing down;
• gears jumping out or slipping back to neutral whilst driving;

Under the exchange scheme, the old unit is not collected before delivery: the reconditioned gearbox is dispatched first, so the garage is never left without a part and the vehicle is not off the road. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the new unit has been delivered and fitted. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
